I am looking for accommodation for two under R2500 any good references
Try Hlalanathi Drakensberg Resort. They are close to us and have lovely chalets. Phone 036 438 6308. Otherwise the accommodation page has links to other options in the area.
HI, can we enter on the day?
HI Derich You are welcome to enter on the day. A late entry fee of R20 is payable. You must also bring your CSA licence if you are doing the 50km or the 30km races. If you don’t have a CSA liscnece, you can buy one on the day for R35.
I think your fee for entry is rediculously high!
Thanks for your feedback regarding the entry fee for the Royal Drak MTB Challenge. At first glance, it does seem like a lot to have to pay for a one day event, but on closer consideration, the entry can actually be free – and you get a whole pile of free stuff! The event is a fund raiser for the Royal Drakensberg Primary School (www.royal-drakensberg.org.za) On entering we send you a raffle sheet with 10 tickets. All you have to do is have 10 conversations with 10 mates, enrolling them into contributing R100 to transforming education in South Africa. The each stand to win one of 6 awesome weekends, and you get to make a difference to our extraordinary school. When you arrive, you get free breakfast, coffee, lunch, soft drinks, beer and champagne, not to mention some of the best riding in SA, on Saturday during the event and for your whole stay in the area. You also get a free Adventure voucher, and a limited edition race garment. If you decide to sponsor yourself – you get 10 chances to win the free weekends!
Hope we’ll see you there!
I’m staying in the Berg from Monday 2nd to Sat 7th April – finishing off my vacation with your event !
Does the “free riding” trailpass apply to my stay BEFORE the event, or only to stays extending beyond your event ?
