The Royal Drak MTB Challenge is back to its original race format of 3 awesome MTB routes , and 2 trail running options.
The 50km Extreme route promises to have you gasping for breath on the climbs and the downhills….The 30km this year is a tough intermediate ride, taking in spectacular views and exciting single track, while the 10km Family Ride follows a wide single track on a gentle gradient through the fields in the valley.
Trail Runners can challenge themselves on the 20km mountain route or take a more chilled option on the 10km valley route
The weekend is not just about racing though – join us on Friday afternoon for a social ride from All Out Adventures, and a sundowner run at Montusi. On Sunday morning we’ll congregate at the Tower of Pizza for a leisurely ride or run around the Long Easy – 15kms of lovely single track that meander along the banks of the Tugela and home through Mila’s lands.
As always the Adventure Centre will be in full swing for the whole weekend, and the dedicated staff of Royal Drakensberg Primary school, will be running the Kids Zone on Saturday. Kids can be dropped off here while parents ride, and they will be cared for and entertained for the morning. They are also welcome to join in the fun after their ride if they join in.
A highlight of the day will be the Kids Race in the middle of the morning. Kids can ride or run on the 1km Adventure Trail around All Out Adventures.
